Mr. Richard “Rick” Miller Morrison,
Jr., age 69, husband of Mary Ann Lawson Morrison went to be with
the Lord Friday, January 30, 2015 at Wallace Thomson Hospital.
Mr. Morrison was born June 24, 1945 a
son of the late Richard “Dick” Miller Morrison, S.R. and
Catherine Garner Morrison. He was a graduate of USC Spartanburg,
a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg and attended Mt.
Joy Baptist Church. Mr. Morrison was a retired commercial
account representative of Advance Auto and was in the US Army
having served with the Special Forces in Vietnam. He was a
member of the South Carolina Football officials association with
district 2 where he refereed for 28 years, and he was both
member and racer in the Vintage Drivers Club of America.
Surviving in addition to his wife are
two sons: John Morrison and wife Donna Marie of Columbia and
Mike Morrison and wife Debbie of Lyman; four grandchildren who
were his heart: Cody Morrison, Dylan Morrison and Lance Morrison
all of Lyman and Megan Morrison of Columbia; a sister: Kay M.
Hines and husband Lynn of Inman and a brother-in-law: Sidney
Lawson of Union. Mr. Morrison was predeceased by a brother: Drew
Morrison.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00
PM Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Mt. Joy Baptist Church
conducted by the Rev. Alan West. Burial will follow in the
Church Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be Sidney
Lawson, William Jolly, John “Cowboy” Bobo, James Bright, Jeffrey
Brig, David Kessinger and George Goings.
The family will receive friends

Ralph S. “Red” Pettie
Union, SC
Mr. Ralph S. “Red” Pettie, age 72, of
1103 Arthur Blvd., Union, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015
at Wallace Thomson Hospital after an extended battle with
cancer.
Mr. Pettie was born October 13, 1942,
in Thomasville, NC, a son of the late John Wesley Pettie and
Anne Bell Crocker Pettie. Mr. Pettie was of the Baptist faith
and was a graduate of Union High School. He retired from the
United Merchants-Buffalo Plant, and worked for Union County
Schools, Union County stadium and Union County Fair. Mr.
Pettie was a lifetime honorary Mason with Union lodge # 75 and a
Hejaz Shriner.
Surviving are two sons: Jonathan
Scott Pettie and wife Amy of Union, Stephen Pettie of Gaffney; a
step-son: Jeffery Bolin and wife Lisa of Columbia; six
grandchildren: Talon Pettie, Trindy Gardin, Stephen Pettie, Jr.,
Brittney Pettie, Bryson Conner and Jason Conner; two
great-grandchildren; and two special friends: Estelle Pettie and
Nellie Lutz.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM
Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home
Chapel conducted by the Rev. Ron Gaddy. Burial will follow with
Masonic Rites at Union Memorial Gardens.

Ms. Pamela Maria Gwinn, age 42, of 32
Harbor Dr., Greenville, SC. 29611 passed away Friday, January
30, 2015 at her home.
Ms. Gwinn was born December 7, 1972
in Union, SC., a daughter of James R. Gwinn of Wilmington, NC
and Gregg B. and Pamela Burgess Currin of Greenville.
She was a graduate of Union High
School and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving in addition to her parents
are two sons: Gavin Christopher Henderson of the home, and James
Michael Osborn of Clinton; a daughter: Katherine Maria Osborn of
Clinton; a sister: Cynthia Gwinn and a Step-sister: Ashley
Currin Mumma; and her grandmother Annis Burgess of Union. Ms.
Gwinn was predeceased by her grandparents: Oren Burgess, S.R.
and Donald and Kitty Gwinn.

William Robert “Bill” Watts,
Jr.
Union, SC
William Robert (Bill) Watts, Jr., was
born April 25, 1951, in Union, S.C., and passed away on January
26, 2015, in Clinton Township, MI. after a brief illness.
Bill was the son of William Robert
(Bob) Watts, Sr., and Kathryn Ault Watts of Union. Maternal
grandparents were the late Lawrence Carroll Ault and Irene Payne
Ault of New Tazewell, TN. Paternal grandparents were the late
Eugene Augustus Watts, Sr. and Effie Luttrell Watts of Union.
A 1969 graduate of Union High School,
where he was a member of the Yellow Jackets football team, Bill
continued his education at Clemson University, graduating in
1986, with a B.S. degree. He was employed as an electrical
engineer for General Motors in Detroit for 18 years. Prior to
that, Bill was a sound technician for Natalie Cole, Herbie
Hancock, the Eagles and other professional musical groups and
traveled around the world twice. He was also a member of the
Army National Reserve.
Bill is survived by his wife Kathy
Bledsoe Watts of Clinton Township, a sister and her husband,
Judy Watts Breckenridge and Dr. Rufus Breckenridge of
Greeneville, TN, and a brother Jim Watts and his wife, Pam, of
Purcellville, VA. He is also survived by nieces and nephews,
Suzanne Breckenridge Tremaine and husband Dustin of Kingsport,
TN; Audra Breckenridge Butler and husband Scott of Luckey, OH;
Caroline Breckenridge Soper and husband Jason of Daniel Island,
SC, Judith Breckenridge of Greeneville, TN.; Baker Watts of
Greenville, SC, and Ethan, Abby and Lauren Watts of
Purcellville, VA; as well as great-nephews Jack and Cole
Tremaine; Dominic and August Butler and Jacob Soper.
Bill was preceded in death by his
parents, grandparents and a brother, Charles David Watts all of
Union. He was baptized at an early age and was of the Baptist
faith.
Visitation will be held at Holcombe’s
Funeral Home in Union, on
Friday, February 6, 2015,
from
7-9 p.m.,
with a memorial service to follow on
February 7 at 11 o’clock a.m.
at Rosemont Cemetery in Union. The family will be at the home,

Stanley H. Hawkins
Union, SC
Mr. Stanley Horace Hawkins, age 62 of
409 Sims Ave., widower of Betty B. Hawkins passed away Friday,
January 23, 2015 at his home.
Mr. Hawkins was born in Union, July
8, 1952 a son of the late Horace Elmer Hawkins and Mildred
Aileen Leonhardt Hawkins. He was a graduate of Union High
School and received a Bachelor’s degree in business from the
University of South Carolina. Mr. Hawkins was retired from Cone
Mill, Carlisle Plant and was a veteran of the US Army. He
was a member of Brown’s Creek Baptist Church and the American
Legion.
Surviving are a daughter, Jill
Hawkins; a son, Brett Hawkins; two step-daughters, Sherry White
and husband Rodney and Amanda Holt; a step-son, Ricky J.
Brawley; a brother, David L. Hawkins and a grandson, Joey
Sanders.
Graveside services will be held

Grady L. Tucker, Sr.
Buffalo, SC
Mr. Grady Lee Tucker, Sr., age 79, of
2450 Mt. Lebanon Rd., Buffalo, passed away Sunday, January 25,
2015, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Tucker was born in Union Co.,
June 18, 1935, a son of the late Berry and Janie Sherbert
Tucker. He was retired from Spartan Mills, Rosemont Plant and
also had worked with Torrington Co., O’Reilly Auto Parts and
Advanced Auto Parts. Mr. Grady was a member of Mt. Lebanon
Baptist Church where he was a member of the Senior Adult Sunday
School Class. He was an avid music lover who frequently
attended the Opry House in Buffalo and other local music events.
He also enjoyed participating with the Buffalo Senior Citizens
Group.
Surviving are two sons, Grady Lee
Tucker, Jr. and wife Patricia of Pauline, and Benjamin Gerald
Tucker, Sr. and special friend, Frona Phillips of Buffalo; a
sister, Gladys Lawson of Buffalo; a brother, Rev. Garner Tucker
of Lancaster; three grandchildren, Amanda Tucker of Roebuck,
Jeffrey Lee Tucker and Benjamin Gerald Tucker, Jr. both of
Buffalo; and four great-grandchildren; Taegan Bishop, Aubrie
Tucker, Emilee Tucker and Quinn Tucker. Mr. Tucker was
predeceased by a granddaughter, Shannon Elizabeth Tucker.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm
Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church
conducted by Rev. Melvin Shelton and Rev. Buddy Hogan. Burial
will be in the church cemetery.

John R. Putnam, Jr.
Buffalo, SC
Mr. John R. “J.R.” “Putt” Putnam,
Jr., age 79 of 246 Haywood St., Buffalo, passed away Saturday,
January 24, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Putnam was born in Buffalo,
August 2, 1935, a son of the late John R. Putnam, Sr. and Pearl
Meadows Putnam. He worked with United Merchants, both Buffalo
Mill and Union Mill and upon their closing, he returned to Union
High School and graduated in 1995. Mr. Putnam had also
worked with Greenleaf in Union. He was a member of Buffalo
Baptist Church and had served as Captain of the Buffalo Fire
Dept. and served with the Minute Men Rescue Team.
Throughout his life, Mr. Putnam was
active in local sports, especially softball. He played with the
Buffalo Mill Team, West Springs and Asbury Textile Teams along
with numerous other teams. He served as president of the
Union County Umpire Association and he coached the Union County
American Legion Team, Little League and Dixie Youth Teams. For
many years, Mr. Putnam was an official with the Spartanburg ASA
Umpire Association and the S.C. High School Association.
He was also an avid Gamecock fan.
Surviving are a daughter, Melissa
Putnam Clark and special companion David Paige of Union; a son,
John R. “Putt” Putnam, III of Myrtle Beach; a sister, Wanda P.
Holcombe of Buffalo and his life companion of 37 years,
Catherine Smith of Union. Mr. Putnam is also survived by
two grandson, Christopher and Andrew Clark; and other children
and grandchildren, Cathy and James Poole, Sammy and Rhonda
Smith, Erica Haney, Matthew Haney, Katie Poole, Trey and Ivey
Smith, Holly S. Walker, three great-grandchildren and numerous
nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Merle
Price and two brothers, Richard Putnam and Raymond Putnam.

Mrs. Busbee was born in Buffalo,
February 24, 1933, a daughter of the late Johnny and Sally
Fannon Queen. She retired from Harry From department store
and was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Mrs. Busbee
was first married to the late Charlie M. Deputy. She was
the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are a son, Charlie M.
Deputy, Jr. and wife Marichu of Union; three daughters, Rose
Marie Deputy of the home, Cathy D. Tessnier and husband Danny of
Pacolet and Jean B. Cornelison and husband Roy, Jr. of Union;
other loving daughters are, Loren Bevis, Patsy Willard and Beth

Columbia.
Mrs. Parkins was born in Shelby, NC,
August 4, 1942 a daughter of the late Willie Lee Humphries and
Vernie Odessa Horne Humphries. She was formerly employed
with Conso Products and had also worked at Ellen Sagar Nusing
Home. Mrs. Parkins was a member of Calvary Free Will
Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Audrey P.
Tidwell and husband Lewis of West Columbia; a son, Franklin D.
“Dale” Parkins, II of the home; two sisters, Carolyn H. McAbee
and Patricia H. McAbee; three brothers, Tommy Humphries, Doug
Humphries and Jimmy Humphries all of Union; a granddaughter,
Brianna Jade Parkins, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Parkins was predeceased by an infant son, Jerry Reed
Parkins, a sister, Melva Faye Lawson and a brother, Dennis
Humphries.

held 3:30PM Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Fairforest Baptist
Church Cemetery by Kevin Mace. The family will receive

Sara Eugenia “Jeanne” Fowler, age 89
of 2 Bishop Gadsden Way, Charleston, S.C. passed away Wednesday,
January 21, 2015 at Roper Hospital.
Ms. Fowler
was born in Lockhart, October 13, 1925, a daughter of the late
William Winfield Fowler, Sr. and Inez Smith Fowler. She
was a graduate of Lockhart High School and received a Bachelor
of Arts degree from Columbia College in 1946. She retired
after 44 years teaching from the Charleston Co. School District
where she taught 2nd
grade at Orange Grove Elementary School. Ms. Fowler also taught
in Georgetown and Rock Hill. She was a member of the John Wesley
United Methodist Church where she was a former member of the
choir and a devoted member of the Lupo
Sunday
School class. Ms.
Fowler volunteered with the Historic Charleston Foundation, the
Charleston Museum and as a Docet at the Historic Joseph
Manigault Home. She also served as an usher for the
Charleston Symphony Orchestra League.
Ms. Fowler was the last surviving
member of her immediate family. She is survived by two nieces,
Billie Jeanne Fowler and Mary Ann Fowler Sweeney both of North
Carolina and numerous generations of cousins. She was
predeceased by a brother, William Winfield “Bill” Fowler, Jr.
and Bill’s wife Betty Fowler.

Mr. Dean Gallman, age 82, husband of
Betty Jo Farr Gallman of 1255 Kelly Road, Union, passed away
Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Medical
Center.
Mr. Gallman was born in Union, SC on
October 24, 1932 a son of the late Oetzel Gallman and Cleo Adams
Gallman. He was retired from Milliken & Company – Monarch
Plant and was a self-employed auto mechanic. Mr. Gallman
was a lifetime member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church where
he served in many capacities and loved singing in the choir. He
had previously served in the South Carolina National Guard.
Mr. Gallman was a member of the Mt. Joy Masonic Lodge.
Surviving in addition to his wife are
a daughter, Joan Ponder of Union; a son, David Gallman and wife
Julie of Union; a sister, Della Gibbs and husband Sonny of
Union; five grandchildren, Angela Fowler and husband Donnie,
Chad Ponder and wife Sherie, Phillip Gallman, Rebecca Gallman,
and Caroline Gallman; five great-grandchildren, Robert Fowler,
Amanda Woods, Kinsley Gallman, Logan Ponder, and Nick Ponder;
two great-grandchildren, Gianna Fowler and Gavin Woods. He
was predeceased by two sons, Michael Gallman and Gerald Gallman
and one brother, Leroy Gallman.

Mrs. Lois Adams Garner, age 66, wife
of Ned Wayne Garner of 194 Garner Road, Union, passed away
Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at her home.
Mrs. Garner was born in Kelton, SC on
January 8, 1949 a daughter of the late James Earl Adams and
Elsie Skoog Adams. She was a graduate of Jonesville High
School and attended Gardner-Webb College. A former truck
and bus driver, Mrs. Garner was retired as plant manager of Mac
Shore Classics and had previously operated her own residential
cleaning service. She was a member of Foster’s Chapel United
Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband
are, two sons, Brian Richard Lawson and Erik Wesley Lawson both
of Jonesville; a step-son, James Garner and wife Megan of Union;
six grandchildren, Tyler Lawson, Brittani Lawson, Tabitha
Lawson, Savanna Lawson, Samuel Lawson, and Erika Lawson; three
step-grandchildren, Riley Garner, Brandon Garner, and Bronson
Garner; two sisters, Jenny Adams and Deborah Crisp both of
Jonesville; two brothers, Richard Adams and wife Shirley of
Jonesville and Talmadge Adams and wife Debra of Union; two

Mrs. Thomas was born in Union, SC
January 2, 1934, a daughter of the late William K. Sanders and
Lonnie Frost Sanders. She was a homemaker and member of
Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Jo Anne T.
Millwood and husband James Edward “Monk”; a son, Billy Thomas
all of Buffalo; four grandchildren: James Edward “Eddie”
Millwood, Jr. of Buffalo, Nikki Silvey, April Trammel both of
Union and Angela Thomas of Taylors and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Hattie Welch Copeland, age 89 of
118 Brookside Drive Union, widow of Kenneth E. Copeland, passed
away Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at her home.
Mrs. Copeland was born in Richard,
TN, March 6, 1925, a daughter of the late Mitchel Beverly Welch
and Emma Nicholson Welch. After the death of her mother at an
early age, Mrs. Copeland was raised in the home of her aunt Mary
Nicholson Chalk. She was a 1948 graduate of Baptist Hospital in
Columbia and was a retired registered nurse with Wallace Thomson
Hospital and also retired in 2001 from Oakmont Nursing Home.
Mrs. Copeland was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where
she was a member of Tommie Vaughan

Mr. James Marvin Heatherly, age 80,
of 195 Bethany Church Rd., Jonesville, widower of Kaye
Heatherly, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Hospice
House of Laurens County.
Mr. Heatherly was born in Union, SC
on July 25, 1934 a son of Ruby Lorene Gist Heatherly Howell of
Jonesville and the late James B. Heatherly. He was a
graduate of Union High School. Mr. Heatherly was retired
from the United States Air Force after twenty-three years.
Following his retirement he worked as and retired as a
self-employed contractor. He was a member of Bethlehem
United Methodist Church where he had served as a member Board of
Trustees on the Official Board and had been Chairman of the
Dinner Committee. Mr. Heatherly was also a member of the
Union Civitan Club and actively supported Union County Relay for
Life. He enjoyed traveling not only as his career but also
as one of his hobbies and pleasures.
Surviving in addition to his mother,
Ruby Howell are his step-father, William H. “Bill” Howell, both
of Jonesville; a brother, Floyd “Stump” Heatherly and wife
Linda, of Jonesville; a very special friend and loving
companion, Marlene Fowler Proctor of Union; a niece, Carol S.
Whitener and husband Allan and daughter, Kristen all of Union; a
nephew, Billy Scales and wife Michelle and daughter Savannah all
of Union; and a special friend, Carl Allen of Jonesville.
He was predeceased by a sister, Betty H. Scales and her husband
Willie Scales.

Mr. Robert Charles ”Bob” LaMore, age
78, husband of Mabel Helms LaMore of 189 Whitlock Lake Rd.,
Jonesville, SC passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at
Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Mr. LaMore was born in Parishville,
NY June 2, 1936, a son of the late William Angus LaMore and
Josephine Angeline Jock LaMore. He was a self-employed carpenter
and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. LaMore was a Veteran of the US
Air Force.
Surviving in addition to his wife are
three daughters: Sandra Lee Rhoden of Jonesville, Josephine
Adaline Lanier and husband William and Jennie Anne Vanae0lst all
of Sarasota, FL; a son, William Bernard LaMore and wife Tammy
Lynn of Jonesville; a step-daughter, Donna Wines of Lake Mary,
FL; two step-sons: Larry Wayne Kelly of Jonesville, and J.R.
Kelly of Bradenton, FL and twenty-five grandchildren and
seventeen great-grandchildren. Mr. LaMore was predeceased by two
step-sons, Bobby Gene Helms and Mark Anthony Kelly.

Mr. Morris was born in Union,
February 10, 1942, a son of the late Boyce “Bo” Morris and Inez
Knox Howell and step-son of the late J.W. Howell. Mr.
Morris was retired from Torrington Co., and also retired as
regional manager for the Spartanburg Herald Journal. He
was a graduate of Union High School and a member of First
Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are
four daughters, Beverly Morris, Susan Waller, Sheri Nash all of
Union and Jolene Parris and husband Buddy of Pacolet; two sons,
Michael Maness of Union and Keith Maness of Winston Salem, NC; a
sister, Patricia Cato of Spartanburg and a brother, Larry Morris
of Union; grandchildren, Shon Morris, Adam McDade, Daniel
McDade, Stephen McDade, Joshua Johnson, John Dylan Maness,

and Willie Frances Chalk Ochiltree. She was retired from
Torrington Co., and was of the Methodist faith. Mrs. Harris was
a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.

St., Lockhart, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 at
Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Ms. Warren was born in Lockhart,
September 10, 1941 a daughter of the late Curtis Lee Warren and
Erlene Roberts Warren. She was a graduate of Lockhart High
School and retired from Duke Power Co. Ms. Warren also
held several other jobs within the community. She was an
active member of Lockhart United Methodist Church where she
served as a Layperson. She had coached Dixie Youth Baseball, was
a contributing columnist for the Union County News and was an
avid animal lover.
Surviving are a brother, Allen Warren
of Lockhart; a niece, Melanie W. McKee and husband Dustin; a
nephew, Jacob Allen Warren; special friends, Donna Sneddon and
husband, Jerry of Lockhart, and Steve P. Harrison and his
children, Elizabeth Harrison and Steven Harrison, and
grandchild, Hadley Harrison of Walterboro. Ms. Warren was also
survived by numerous cousins and many friends. She was
predeceased by her best friend, Polly Warren and a niece, Robin
S. Harrison.

was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Mr. Burgess loved
the outdoors and was an avid fisherman.

Burgess and wife Jean; and Mr. Burgess’ fiancée, Doris Dover all

School Class. Mrs. Fowler was lovingly known as “Granny”.
She is survived by a brother, Bud Cookson of Union and a sister,

4, 1924, a son of the late James David Fowler and Amanda Jones
Fowler. He was retired from Milliken and Co. and was a member of
Lockhart Free Will Baptist Church where he had served as Church
Treasurer for 53 years. Mr. Fowler was a mason and was lovingly
known as “Paw-Paw”. He is survived by a sister, Mabel F.
Hyder of Union. Mr. Fowler was predeceased by five siblings.
They are survived by their only son,
Tommy Fowler and wife Sara Jane; their grandson, Brian Fowler
and wife Amanda; three great-grandchildren, Jackson, Maggie and

Reed Tran, 52, of Raleigh passed away peacefully Monday December
29, 2014 at Transitions LifeCare (formally Hospice of Wake
County) after a short courageous battle with cancer.
Dave was born in Washington, D. C. and lived most of his life in
Raleigh. A graduate of Millbrook High School he had been
employed by the State of North Carolina and the United Way of
the Triangle.
He was preceded in death by his father David J. Tran of Silver

Supervisor. He was retired from the South Carolina
National Guard. Mr. Cohen was a member of Duncan Acres
United Methodist Church where he held several positions and was

Football Official and a member of the Jaycees.

High School. He also had a love for animals particularly

Mrs. Sherry Knox Austin, age
62, of 231 Hancock St., Union, widow of George T. Austin, passed
away January 3, 2015 at Wallace Thomson Hospital.
Mrs. Austin was born in Union,
January 27, 1952, a daughter of the late Boyd and Grace Ingle
Knox. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are three sons, Thomas Boyd
Austin and wife, Angie, Shannon Lee Austin and wife, Michelle,
and Brent Tyson Austin and wife, Angela all of Union; a brother,
Darrell Brent Knox of Jonesville; five grandchildren, Carra
Austin, Cassidy Austin, Caylee Austin, Kayla Reid and Kyle Reid;
and three great-granddaughters, Blakelee Bright, Kylie Reid and
Gracie Reid. Mrs. Austin was predeceased by a grandson, Thomas
Boyd (T.J.) Austin and two brothers, Tommy Joe Vaughan and
Travis Vaughan.
Funeral services will be held
2:00 PM Wednesday, January 7, 2015
at Morningside Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Aubrey Calvert.
Burial will be at Rosemont Cemetery.
Active pallbearer will be Todd
McGowan, Patrick Sinclair, Blake Bright, Derrick Green, Chad
Lawter and Mark Harris.

Christa Coleman
Austin, TX
Miss Christa Elizabeth Coleman, age
45, of 1308 McKie Dr., Austin, TX., passed away Monday, December
29, 2014 at her home.
Miss Coleman was born in Union,
January 14, 1969 a daughter of Arana Talley Coleman and the late
Charles Maxie Coleman. She was a graduate of Blacksburg High
School.
Surviving in addition to her mother
are a daughter, Genara Coleman and companion, Eutiquio Mosso
Renteria of TX; a sister, Brandi Walker and husband Tyler, a
niece and nephew, Aleah Coleman and Payne Coleman all of TN; and
a special Aunt, Iratha Ivey of Buffalo.
Graveside Services will be held
3:00 PM Wednesday, January 7, 2015
at Putman Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Roger
Estes. The family will receive friends immediately follow the
graveside service at the cemetery.
The family will be at the home of her
mother, Arana Coleman, 1307 Linersville Rd., Buffalo, SC 29321.
Dorothy Hopkins
Union, SC
Ms. Dorothy Helen Hopkins, age 84, of
1209 Monarch Hwy., Union, went to be with her Lord and Savior on
Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Wallace Thomson Hospital.
Ms. Hopkins was born in Chatham, GA.,
November 9, 1930 a daughter of the late Mae Hopkins Blanton. She
was a faithful member of Fairview Baptist Church with 44 years
of perfect attendance until illness prevented her from
attending.
Ms. Hopkins is the last surviving
member of her immediate family. Surviving are two cousins, Mary
Jane Chastain and Peninnah Smith all of Union.
Graveside services were held at
3:00 PM Monday, January 5, 2015
at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Robert Scott,
Rev. Ross Wilson and Rev. Robert Branch.
The family received friends from
1:45 until 2:45 PM
prior to the service at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
The family will be at the home of her
cousin, Jimmy and Debbie Chastain, 611 Peach Orchard Rd. Union,
SC. 29379.
