James Carol Caldwell

Mr. James Carol Caldwell, age 78, of 228 Burgess Rd., Jonesville, widower of Brenda Hutcherson Caldwell, passed away Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Caldwell was born April 26, 1940 in Union, a son of the late Paul A. Caldwell and Grace Sumner Caldwell.  He was retired from Torrington & Co.—Tyger River Plant and had formerly worked for Union County at the Recycling Center in Jonesville.  Mr. Caldwell was a volunteer with Bonham Fire Department for over 25 years.  He was a former coach of various little league football and baseball teams. 

Surviving are two sons, Russell Caldwell of the home and Bucky Caldwell of Myrtle Beach; two sisters, Frances Davis and Vickie Henderson both of Union; two brothers, Larry Caldwell of Jonesville and Charlie Caldwell of Cross Keys; close family friends, Rick and Wanda Drain of Union; four grandchildren, Tyler Caldwell, Jessica Dunn, Clarisa Caldwell and Mary Kaytlin Caldwell; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by one brother Billy Dean Caldwell.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Fairforest Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Mark Truitt and Rev. Johnny Burgess.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

Peggy Elizabeth West Judy
Union, SC


Mrs. Peggy Elizabeth West Judy, age 71 of 113 Harris St., Union, formerly of Charleston, widow of Arnold Steven Judy, passed away Monday August 13, 2018 at her home.

Mrs. Judy was born January 4, 1947 in Union, a daughter of Ollie Mae West Brock of Buffalo and the late Bob West.  She was a member of Deer Park Baptist Church of Charleston and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are two sons, Steve Judy and Ron Judy; her life partner, Joan Craddock; three brothers, Kevin Watts, Ray Watts, and Pete Judy; two sisters, Linda Harrold and Mary Long; five grandsons, Stevie Judy, James Judy, David Judy, Matthew Judy, and Richard Johnson; and a family friend, Barbara Jean Judy.  She was predeceased by one sister, Kaye Watts Hensel and one brother, Richard Watts.

A visitation to celebrate her life will be held Friday, August 17, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel.

Ola Mae Moore
Spartanburg, SC


Miss Ola Mae Moore, age 87, of 297 Moore Rd., Spartanburg, SC, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, August 11, 2018 at her home.

Miss Moore was born August 9, 1931 in Spartanburg, a daughter of the late William Smith Moore and Mary Johnson Moore. She was a graduate of Pacolet High School and was formerly an owner of Woodruff Fish House until she retired. Miss. Moore was a faithful member of Hammett Grove Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed traveling.

Miss Moore is survived by seven nieces and two nephews, many great nieces and nephews, one great-great-great niece and one great-great-great nephew. She is predeceased by a
sister, Ruth Moore Rochester and a brother, William H. “Bill” Moore.

A celebration of Miss Moore’s life will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Hammett Grove Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Clint Phillips, and Rev. David Sellars.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Miss Moore’s great nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be Monday night from 6:00 until 8:00 at Hammett Grove Baptist Church.

Michael Clarence Brewington

Mr. Michael Clarence Brewington, age 66, husband of Jean Blackwood Brewington, passed away Friday, August 10, 2018 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Mr. Brewington was born in Union, SC May 4, 1952, a son of the late Clarence Brewington and Dorothy Addis Brewington. He was a 1972 graduate of Jonesville High School and retired as Lieutenant with the South Carolina Department of Corrections- Tyger River Facility. Mr. Brewington was a Veteran of the South Carolina National Guard—Union Unit having served for 12 years.  He was a member of First Baptist Church Spartanburg.  Mr. Brewington was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.  His hobbies included watching NASCAR and the Clemson Tigers. 

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Michael Brewington and wife Rachel of Jonesville; a step-daughter, Kacie Carlisle of Charlotte; a step-son, Kevin Haydock and wife Shannon of Pacolet; four grandchildren, Dylan Young, Tori, Noah, and Jordan Haydock; a sister, Sue Kendrick and husband Randy of Jonesville; his mother-in-law, Betty Blackwood of Spartanburg; two sisters-in-law, Kaye Jamison and husband Bill of Prosperity and Bobbi Siefert of Greenville; a brother-in-law Tommy Blackwood and wife Wanda of Jonesville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Sal Barone and Rev. Bill Adams. 

Active pallbearers will be Robin Goings, Terry Holmes, Robbie Littlejohn, Mike “Snake” Robinson, Todd Kendrick, and Kevin Vess.

Mr. James Edward Boulware, Sr., age 75 of 210 Hope Dr., Lockhart, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Boulware was born in Union, June 18, 1943, a son of the late Lewis Vernon Boulware and Pauline Keisler Boulware.  He was retired from Milliken Co., Monarch Plant and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda Boulware Martin and husband Aaron of Lockhart; four sons, James E. Boulware, Jr. and fiancée April Sherbert of the home, Anthony Boulware of North Carolina, Michael Boulware and Eddie Wayne Boulware both of Union; 15 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Jack.  Mr. Boulware was predeceased by three sisters, Glynnis Austin, Barbara Dill and Shirley Fox and one brother, Lewis Vernon Boulware, II.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Lockhart Cemetery conducted by Rev. Joe Martin.

The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the services.

Mrs. Mary Alice Wofford Ledford, age 85, formerly of Union and Gaffney, widow of G.T. Ledford, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the Inverness at Spartanburg.

Mrs. Ledford was born in Wilkinsville, Cherokee Co., SC, November 25, 1932, a daughter of the late Billy E. and Bessie Peeler Wofford. She the former owner and operator of Duncan Road Produce in Union and was later employed with Mark’s Garden Center in Spartanburg.  Mrs. Ledford was a member of Abingdon Creek Baptists Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Jean Knox and husband Walter of Union; three sons, Billy Ledford and wife Susan of Union, Mark Ledford and wife Cheryl of Glenn Springs and Randy Ledford and wife Linda of Union; a sister, Lillian Stroupe of Gaffney; six grandchildren: Carol Brunson, Andrea Thompson, Elizabeth Birch and husband Kevin, Jameson Knox and wife Cindy, Jennifer Ledford and Brittany Ledford; five great-grandchildren: Aubrey Thompson, Alyssa Thompson, Kyptin Ledford, Paisley Knox and Elaina Knox. Mrs. Ledford was predeceased by a daughter, Becky Roark and a sister, Clara Howard.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, August 10, 2018 at Abingdon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Bill Jones. 

Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Friday in the church prior to the services.

Mr. Glenn Franklin “Frankie” Davis, age 56, husband of Norma Keisler Davis, of 104 Culbreath Heights, Union, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Davis was born January 20, 1962 in Union, a son of Paul Davis and the late Sandra Barber Davis.  He was employed with Milliken & Co.—Cedar Hill Plant.

Surviving in addition to his wife and father are five daughters, Kristina Painter and husband Jimmy of Union, Tiffany Tumax and husband Pablo of Boiling Springs, Kristina Judy of Union, Nikki Cagle and husband Mikey of Union, and Amiee Cagle of Michigan; one son, James Cagle of Union; two special grandsons of the home, Cameron Judy and Bentley Judy; one sister, Paula Gilkison and husband Joey of Union; four brothers, James Davis and wife Donna of Cowpens, Darryl Davis and wife Marie of Union, Eddie Davis and husband Matthew Temple of Nashville, and Kristian Davis of Union; thirteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. Kenny Weaver and Rev. Walter Parham.  Burial will follow in Union Memorial Gardens.

Larry W. Burgess, Sr.

Mr. Larry Woodrow Burgess, Sr., age 76, of the Iverness at Spartanburg, went home to be with the Lord on August 8, 2018, while surrounded by his children.  Mr. Burgess was widower of Elma Jean Bledsoe Burgess.

Mr. Burgess was born in Union, February 9, 1942, a son of the late Woodrow Wilson Burgess and Bertha McCall Burgess. He was a graduate of Union High School and retired from Cone Mill, Carlisle Finishing Plant.  He was a member of the John A. Fant Masonic Lodge (Union Masonic Lodge #75) and was an avid fisherman who also loved gospel music.  Mr. Burgess was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Jennifer B. Hines and husband Chris of Boiling Springs; two sons, Larry Woodrow Burgess, Jr. and wife Mickey and Raymond Burgess and wife Monique all of Union; a sister, Carolyn B. Turner of Union and several grand and great-grandchildren. Mr. Burgess was predeceased by a twin brother, Harry Wilson Burgess and a sister, Brenda B. Coker.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, August 10, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Johnny Burgess.  Burial with Masonic Rites will be at Union Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Heath Burgess, Joe Wade, Ray Brown, Dustin Rakestraw, Andy Eller and Jackie Phipps.  Memorial of the Adult Sunday School class of New Hope Baptist are asked to sit in a group.

Mr. Rodney Earl “Kink” Alman, age 52, of 218 Old Pump Station Rd., Union, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Alman was born July 22, 1966 in Union, a son of John Earl Alman and Evelyn Tindall Alman.  He was formerly employed with Parris Automotive in Gaffney. 

Surviving in addition to his parents are family members, Deanna Alman and Charleen Alman and his beloved dog, Taz.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, August 12, 2018 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. Allen McKee.

Kaye Moss Chumley

Ms. Kaye Moss Chumley, age 69, of Jonesville, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018 at her home.

Ms. Chumley was born May 8, 1949 in Jonesville, a daughter of the late Bobby Gene Moss and Dorothy Lipsey Moss.  She was a 1967 graduate of Jonesville High School and 1969 graduate of Spartanburg Technical College where she received a degree in Accounting and Business.  Ms. Chumley was retired from Vic Bailey Ford where she was the comptroller and she later worked and retired from the Children’s Advocacy Center.   She was a member of Jonesville Baptist Church where she was a member of the Women’s Missionary Union, a Sunday School Teacher, a VBS Volunteer and various other committees.  Ms. Chumley was a volunteer with the Union Pregnancy Center, with the local nursing homes, and with Jonesville Elementary and Middle School.

Surviving are one daughter, Kasey Chumley Charles and husband Brent of Duncan; one son, Benjamin Chumley and partner Shannon Creighton of Spartanburg; one granddaughter, Kayla Chumley of Duncan; and two sisters, Becky Beheler and husband Steve and Barbara Baldwin and husband Frank all of Jonesville. She was predeceased by one sister Lizbeth Jean Moss.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 PM Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Jonesville Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Scott Cannon and Rev. Ralph Brown.  Burial will follow at Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Frank Baldwin, Steve Beheler, Shannon Creighton, Brent Charles, Doran Eaves, and Danny Gregory.  Honorary pallbearers will be the Claude Coleman Sunday School Class, the Lottie Moon Circle, and the Children’s Advocacy Center.

Robert Steven “Boo” Warr, age 45, and his wife Loretta Tucker “Rudi” Warr, age 43, of 410 Springdale Dr., Union, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018. Robert and Loretta are survived by two son, Zack Warr and D.J. Warr both of the home.

Loretta was born in Lockhart, June 30, 1975, a daughter of Marie Snapp Tucker of Pacolet and Bill Tucker of Union. She was employed in the admissions department at the University of South Carolina, Union where she was also working on her Bachelor’s degree. Loretta was a 1993 graduate of Union High School and a 2012 graduate of Spartanburg Community College where she graduated with Highest Honors. She was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society and served as president of the International Association of Administrative Professionals from 2011 to 2012. She and her husband were members of the First Baptist Church of Lockhart.

Surviving in addition to her sons and parents are a sister, Ann Marie Tucker, a brother Dennis Carson Tucker and wife Teresa all of Union and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother William Claude Tucker.

Robert was born in Lockhart, March 26, 1973, a son of the late James Warr and Sarah Elizabeth Hembree Warr Fullbright and step-son of the late Bobby Jack Fullbright. He was a 1991 graduate of Union High School and attended Spartanburg Community College. Robert was the owner and operator of Warr’s Auto and was an avid car enthusiast, on and off-road cars.

Surviving in addition to his sons, are a sister, Christie Ward and husband Glenn of Spartanburg; a brother, James H. “Jimmy” Warr and wife Tammy of Union; a honorary brother, Michael Conn and wife Stephanie of Union; two half-sisters, Ann McDaniel and husband William and Judy Bass all of Union; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Robert and Loretta will be held 3:00 PM Friday, August 10, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Union, 405 E. Main St., Union, conducted by Rev. Delos Blanton and Rev. Ben Hill. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens.

Davis Herbert Williams

Mr. Davis Herbert Williams, age 97, widower of Frances Vaughan Williams, formerly of 2211 Buffalo-West Springs Hwy., Buffalo, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home.

Mr. Williams was born in Union, June 17, 1921, a son of the late Danny and Mamie Alexander Williams. He was retired from United Merchants, Buffalo Plant and was a member of Victory Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Jeanette Pharr of Union; four sons, Randy Gault and wife Barbara, Ronnie Gault, Larry Gault and wife Pamela, and Dennis Gault all of Union; a brother, Herbert Leon Williams of Union; a granddaughter reared in the home, Ashley Gault and a number of other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Mr. Williams was predeceased by a son, Ronald William, a brother and a sister.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at Rosemont Cemetery conducted by Rev. Ricky Cook.

Samuel M. Bobo

Mr. Samuel Mosley Bobo, age 91 of 212 Davis St., Union, widower of Hazel Lawson Bobo, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Mr. Bobo was born in Union, April 1, 1927, a son of the late Wylie Bernard “W.B.” Bobo and Bessie Sanders Bobo.  He was retired from Torrington Co., Tyger River Plant and was a veteran of the US Army having served in the European Theater during WWII.  Mr. Bobo was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon.  He was a Mason for over 50 years at the John A. Fant Lodge where he had been Past Worshipful Master and then the Union Masonic Lodge.  He and his wife were members of the Order of the Amarantha and he was also a member of Woodmen of the World.

Surviving are a daughter, Teresa B. Henderson and husband Tony of Union; two sons, Samuel E. “Gene” Bobo, Sr. and wife Kathy of Union and Donald Ray Bobo, Sr. of Spartanburg; a sister, Matrel B. Mosley; a brother, Wayne Bobo and wife Gayle all of Union; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.  Mr. Bobo was predeceased by a sister, Sarah B. Davis; six brothers, L.J. Bobo, Ernest Marshall Bobo, Sr., Claude Bobo, Jimmy Bobo, twins Ray and Roy Bobo and a daughter-in-law Gloria Bobo.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, August 6, 2018 at Mon Aetna Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Chris Gulledge and Rev. Benny Green.  Burial with Military Honors and Masonic Rites will be held at Union Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Virginia Jones “Jenny” Willard, age 70, wife of Kenneth Wayne Willard of 119 Teal Rd., Union, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 at her home.

Mrs. Willard was born in Chesterfield Co., SC, January 6, 1948, a daughter of the late Rev. Henry Jones and Ruby Brock Jones.  She was a graduate of Union High School and was retired from the Dept. of Juvenile Justice.  Mrs. Willard was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Ken Willard of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two daughters, Karen Bridges and husband Josh of Easley and Kelly Wood and husband Lynn of Union; two brothers, Mike Jones of New Mexico and John Jones of Spartanburg; and four grandchildren, Delaney and Sulley Wood and Brock and Bryce Bridges.

Ms. Bailey was born in Union, SC March 27, 1959, a daughter of J.B. Sanders and Ann Bailey Sanders of Union. Ms. Bailey was a graduate of Union High School and upon receiving her Pharmacist Technician Certification, completed thirty-five years of service including Smith’s Pharmacy and Union Family Pharmacy. She was a supporter of Union County Humane Society; a Board Member of Union County Heart Aid Society and was always willing to help other people.

Surviving are a sister, Pennie S. Duckett and husband Anthony; a special niece, Tiffany D. McCall all of union; great-nieces and great-nephews: Trevor McCall, Hunter McCall, Ava McCall, Allie Lawson and Harlee Lawson all of Union and a number of aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, August 4, 2018 at SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Tommy Vaughn. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Anthony Duckett, Steve McCall, Trevor McCall, Brooks Trakas, Kyle Stover, Casey Chapman, Mickey Adkins and Mickey Harmon.

Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Friday evening at the funeral home.

Robert Keith Davis, age 56 of Orange, Texas, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018 in Vinton, Texas.

Keith was born in Union, South Carolina on May 14, 1962 to Sara Bobo Davis and Robert F. Davis. Keith had been a long time electrician and enjoyed traveling with his wife, Lori. He was all about spending time with his loving family, especially his grandchildren. Keith was an avid Clemson University Tigers fan and enjoyed going to the games with his father. GO TIGERS!

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sara Davis.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Lori Locke Davis of Orange, TX, son Christopher Romano and his wife Jordan of Orange, TX, daughter Victoria Romano Aaron and her husband Max of Orange, TX and son Reginald Romano of Austin, TX. In-laws, Gene Locke and Vicky Atkins Locke of Orange, TX, sister Lynne Davis Burnett and her husband Spanky of Union, SC, brother Lewis Davis of Spartanburg, SC, brother-in-law Larry Locke and his wife Melissa of Orange, TX, sister-in-law Jeannie Locke of Orange, TX, grandson Cooper Aaron of Orange, TX, granddaughter Aubrey Romano of Orange, TX, nieces and nephews Sera Michelle Goldie and her husband Chris, Patrick Burnett and his wife Nicole, Paine Burnett, Brittany Locke Leffew and her husband Jeremy, Kirsten Locke Fournet and her husband Zack, Sierra Locke and Reece Locke. Great nieces and nephews Harper Burnett, Jackson Goldie, Caden Leffew, Christopher Micah Leffew, Kaylie Leffew, Mary Leffew, Alexis Fournet and Tyler Fournet, as well as many other extended family members and close friends.

Services in Texas to honor Keith's life will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Orange, TX with Brother John Bickham officiating. Family and friends will gather for a visitation from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the church on Saturday. Dorman Funeral Home in Texas will be handling the arrangements.

Services in Union, SC will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Mon Aetna Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Chris Gulledge and Rev. Robert Emory.

Jesus came and took Mr. Wallace Thomas Alexander home Wednesday, August 1, 2018. He was the widower of Barbara W. Alexander.

Mr. Alexander was born in Union, SC April 30, 1931, a son of the late Wallace Tiny Alexander and Jessie Fowler Alexander. He was a graduate of Union High School and Columbia Bible College. Mr. Alexander retired as a manager of Sears and was a Veteran of the US Army having served in Japan during the Korean War. He was a member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church where he had previously taught the Tom Alexander Sunday School Class.

Surviving are three daughters: Elisa Grimmer and husband Rod of Dothan, AL, Bonnie Taylor and husband Ed of Charlotte, NC and Connie Kemp of Greer; a son, Tommy Alexander and wife Ann Marie of Union; nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Rosanell Adams and husband Aubrey; a brother, Carroll Alexander and wife Brenda all of Union. Mr. Alexander was predeceased by two sisters, Madeline Adams and Francis Lane and a brother, Alvin Alexander.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 3rd, 2018 12:00 Noon at SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Chris Gulledge and Rev. Bob Cato. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Rod Grimmer, Ed Taylor, Kent Orr and Harold Eubanks.

The following are asked to serve as the Honorary Escort, members of the Tom Alexander Sunday School Class and the staff and nurses of MSA Hospice.

Thomas David Simmons

Mr. Thomas David “Tommy” Simmons, age 68, husband of Suzette Lancaster Simmons of 179 Pinedale Court, Prosperity, passed away at his home, July 31, 2018.

Mr. Simmons was born in Union, January 16, 1950, a son of the late George Edward Simmons, Sr. and Daisy O’Shields Simmons Maness. He was a self-employed entrepreneur and owner of Simmons Properties. Over the years Mr. Simmons owned several businesses in the Union area including Mr.T’s Rentals and Fas T’s.

He was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church.

Mr. Simmons was a 1968 graduate of Union High School where he lettered in football, baseball and basketball. He played in the 1967 Shrine Bowl and in the North–South All Star game. He was an All-Conference athlete for three years, All-State in football and was also named All-American. Tommy was inducted into the Union High Athletic Hall of Fame in 1998.  He was also inducted into the 2018 Union County Dixie Youth Baseball Hall of Fame. Tommy was an avid fan of the Union County High School softball team and the tennis team.

In 1972, he graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science degree.  While in college he played football for the Gamecocks and was a member of the 1969 ACC Championship team. Tommy continues to hold a record in the top 40 for the most career yardage gained. He remains a member of the USC Letterman’s Association.

Of all his life accomplishments, he was most proud of his 49-year marriage to his wife, Suzette. He is also survived by three daughters, Stacy S. Kicidis and husband Michael of Union; Audra S. Walker and husband Mike of Buffalo and Miranda B. Simmons of Prosperity; four grandchildren; David Kicidis, Dillon Sailors, Hannah Sailors and Kristin Kicidis; his mother-in-law, Ruth C. Lancaster; a sister-in-law, Betty Jo Simmons both of Buffalo; a niece Dawn S. Fallaw and husband Johnny of Union and their sons, John Simmons Fallaw and wife Hannah and Grayson Fallaw; an uncle, Lewis Earl O’Shields of Jacksonville, FL and a special family friend, David “Hoagie” Belue.  Mr. Simmons was predeceased by a brother, George Edward Simmons, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, August 3, 2018, at the SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Mr. Mike Anthony and Mr. Richie Moye.

Richard Douglas Eaves

Mr. Richard Douglas Eaves, age 62, husband of Patricia Cole Eaves of 493 Bruce O. Wilson Rd., Union, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Spartanburg Medical Center.

Mr. Eaves was born in Union, SC February 16, 1956, a son of the late James Douglas Eaves, Jr. and Grace West Eaves. He was a graduate of Union High School and was formerly employed with Cedar Hill. Mr. Eaves was a member of Hebron Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are four daughters: Jennifer Barber and Joey Edwards, Andrea Davis and husband Corey, Dawn Sorrell and husband Ken and Lori Elder and husband Jeff; two sisters: Carol E. Knox and Rhonda E. Mayes and husband Charles; eight grandchildren: Blair “BB” Edwards, Cole Davis, Bailey Davis, Abby Elder, Macey Elder, Josh Sorrell, Nathan Sorrell and Kaylee Sorrell, a great-granddaughter, Myla Sorrell and his beloved dog, Comet. Mr. Eaves was predeceased by a grandson, Hayden Elder.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, August 3, 2018 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Robert Scott. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held at the graveside following the service.

The family will be at the home of his daughter, Jennifer Barber, 214 Hillcrest Drive, Union, SC 29379.
