Joyce T. Palmer
Mrs. Joyce Trammell Palmer, age 82 of 415 C. Street, Jonesville, widow of Harold Dean Palmer, Sr., went home to be with the Lord, August 31, 2016 at Heartland of Union.
Mrs. Palmer was born in Union, September 12, 1933, a daughter of the late Gary and Mattie Davis Trammell. She was a member of Jonesville Baptist Church where she was a member of the Emily McBride School Class and the Happy Heart Group.
Surviving are three sons, Marion E. Palmer, Donnie Palmer and wife Kathy and Harold Dean Palmer, Jr., and wife Annette all of Jonesville; two sisters, Janice Fowler of Jonesville and Maggie Howell of Union; two brothers, Gary Trammell of Union and Francis Trammell of Jonesville; a special niece, Sonya Sanford of Jonesville; four grandchildren, Nikki Palmer of Charlotte, Brooks Palmer of Jonesville, Kelly Harris of Mayo and Jason Palmer of Greenville and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Palmer was predeceased by a son, Ronnie Palmer.
Funeral services will be held at at the Holcombe’s Jonesville Chapel conducted by Rev. Jeff Dean and Rev. Johnny Burgess. Burial will be at Jonesville Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Gregg Sanford, Dylan Thomason, Gregory Sanford, Jr., Dennis Howell, John Young and Brent Harris.
Members of the Emily McBride School Class and the Happy Hearts Group are asked to sit in a group.

Wilhelmina H. Kirby
Mrs. Wilhelmina Howell “Willie” Kirby, age 81, of 1214 S. Pinckney St., Union, widow of Ernest E. Kirby, formerly of Hancock St., went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, August 30, 2016.
Mrs. Kirby was born in Union, June 4, 1935, a daughter of the late William Henry Howell and Emma Gregory Howell. She was a founding member of Christian Fellowship Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Surviving are two daughters, Shirley Pauline Heinz and husband Steven and Sara “Chinki” Manis all of Union; two sons, Michael Scott Kirby of Spruce Pine, NC and Ernest “Bubba” Kirby of Union; 14 grandchildren, David Babb, Jamie Babb, Fletcher Roberts, Kristi Roberts Hawkins, Devin Heinz, Sandy Gilkinson, Adrian Taylor, Shane Thompson, Colt McDaniels, David Kirby, Christopher Vanderford, Brittany Thompson, Adam and Cheyanne Kirby; a number great-grandchildren. Also surviving are special caregivers, Teresa Humphries, Donna Floyd and Betty Brown. Mrs. Kirby was predeceased by two sons, Kenny Kirby and Danny Prather and by three brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held at Christian Fellowship Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Randy Smith and Rev. David Berry. Burial will be at Pacolet United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Kirby’s grandsons will serve as the active pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

Kenneth Wayne Painter
Mr. Kenneth Wayne Painter, age 55, of 765 Rogerstown Rd., Jonesville, widower of Amy Belcher Painter, passed away August 28, 2016 at his home.
Mr. Painter was born in Union, January 20, 1961, a son of the late James and Helen Thrift Painter.
Surviving are three sons, Blake Painter and wife Kortni of Boiling Springs, Jacob Painter of Cowpens and Josh Lowery and wife Callie of Glendale; a granddaughter, Adelynne Painter; three brothers, Ronnie Painter, Larry Painter and Ed Knox. Mr. Painter was predeceased by a sister, Vicky Moore.
Funeral services will be held at at the Holcombe’s Jonesville Chapel conducted by Rev. Lynn Ford. Burial will be at Jonesville Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Carl “Dunie” Fleming age 72 of Houma, LA, formerly of Union, passed away, August 17, 2016.
Mr. Fleming was born in Union, August 21, 1943 a son of the late James and Edna Wix Fleming.
He is survived by three daughters, Debbie Fleming, Dawn Fleming, and Candy Fleming; one son, David Fleming all of Milwaukee, WI; three brothers, Jimmy Fleming and wife Emerdine of TX, Arthur Fleming and wife Maryann of Spartanburg, and Cedric Fleming and wife Linda of Union; two sisters, Jessica Fleming of AL and Brenda Snyder of Union and an uncle, Bob Fleming and wife Sue of Myrtle Beach.
A memorial service will be held , at Oakbrook Community Church conducted by Rev. Randy Burgess.

Elma Jean Burgess
Mrs. Elma Jean Bledsoe Burgess, age 67, wife of Larry W. Burgess, Sr., of 504 Peach Orchard Rd., Union, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Physical Rehab Wellness Center of Spartanburg.
Mrs. Burgess was born in Blackwater, VA February 12, 1949, a daughter of the late Davie Gaston Bledsoe and Virgie Rhoton Bledsoe. She was retired from Carlisle Finishing following thirty-nine years of service. Mrs. Burgess was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Jennifer Renee Burgess Hines and husband Chris of Boiling Springs; two step-sons: Larry Burgess, Jr and wife Michelle and Raymond Burgess and wife Beverly all of Union; four sisters: Della Robinette of Union, Ruby Edmonds and husband David of Spartanburg, Barbara Knox and husband Collie of Cowpens and Kathy English and husband Bobby of Union; three brothers: Davie Bledsoe and wife Thelma of Buffalo, Jerry Bledsoe and wife Gail of Greensboro, NC and Clifford Bledsoe and wife Kathy of Gaffney; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Mrs. Burgess was predeceased by a sister, Allie Collins and a brother, Glenn Bledsoe.
Funeral services will be held at New Hope Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Johnny Burgess. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens.

Mary Sue Bailey
Mrs. Mary Sue Owenby Bailey, age 84, formerly of Pinedale Avenue, Union, passed away Friday, August 26, 2016 at The Cottages of Brushy Creek, Greer, SC. She was the widow of Preston F. Bailey, Jr.
Mrs. Bailey was born in Blairsville, GA June 2, 1932, a daughter of the late Grady D. Owenby and Flora Cope Owenby. She was a member of Covenant Baptist Church and was formerly a member of Westside Baptist Church. Mrs. Bailey retired from Enoree Mills and was formerly employed with United Merchants- Union.
Surviving are two daughters: Judith B. Davis and husband Robert of Leesburg, VA and Cindy Robbins and husband Rex of Greer; a son, Preston F. Bailey, III and wife Cynthia of Boiling Springs; two sisters: Alice Harris of Union and Dorothy Crocker of Buffalo; six grandchildren: Jonathan Robbins and wife Sara of Elon, NC; Matthew Robbins and wife Lauren of Charlotte, NC; Timothy Robbins and wife Nicole of Greer; Maura Bailey of Columbia,; Christopher Davis and wife Lora of Knoxville, TN and Daniel Davis and wife Suzanne of Albuquerque, New Mexico and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bailey was predeceased by a sister and seven brothers.

Charles William Allen
Mr. Charles William Allen, age 58 of 523 Toluca Street, Union, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice House.
Mr. Allen was born in Union April 16, 1958, a son of Guy Copeland of the home and the late Martha Lawson Copeland. He was a retired plumber and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving in addition to his father are two sisters: Marlene A. Davis and husband Brent of Jonesville and Tammie A. Davis of Union; a brother, Larry “Foots” Lawson and wife Patricia of Union; two special little girls that called him “Papa Charlie”, Hallie and Carrigan Brewington; a special friend, Susan Wentz and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Allen was predeceased by a nephew, Tony Lawson.
Graveside services will be held at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Chris Gulledge.
Active pallbearers will be Johnny Fleming, Eddie Bailey, Shawn Garner, Walker Lawson, Christian Lawson, Mike Weaver, Dennis “Skeet” Sumner and Matthew Davis. Judith T. Eversman
Judith Thomas Eversman of Union, SC passed away August 25, at Savannah Grace in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Mrs. Eversman was born in Union on December 15, 1935 the daughter of the late George W. Thomas and Delle Jeter Thomas.
Judith graduated from Winthrop and received her Master’s in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Carolina. She retired from Union County Schools after teaching for 28 years. She was a lifelong member of Grace United Methodist Church, and a former member of the Junior Charity League, the Criterion Book Club, Delta Kappa Gamma, and the Union Cotillion Club.
Judith was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with family, playing the piano, beach vacations, shopping and playing bridge.
Judith is survived by her daughter, Lynn Zeringue and husband Stephen of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter-in-law Anne Menna and husband John of Knoxville, TN; three grandsons: John Dillon Eversman, IV of Austin, TX, John Joseph Zeringue of Brooklyn, NY and Andrew Stephen Zeringue of Mt. Pleasant. Judith is predeceased by her husband of 55 years John Dillon (Jack) Eversman, Jr. and son John Dillon Eversman, III.
The family will have a graveside service on at Grace United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. David Bauknight. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Melvin D. Revis
Mr. Melvin Dennis Revis, age 83, husband of Barbara Stalnaker Revis of 203 Mt. Tabor Church Rd., Union, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016 at the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Revis was born in Lockhart, April 23, 1933, a son of the late Luther and Lucille Johnson Revis. He was retired from Torrington Co., Tyger River Plant and was a member of Lockhart First Baptist Church. Mr. Revis was also a member of the Lockhart Masonic Lodge #224.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 64 years, are three daughters, Denise Sanders and husband Keith, Debbie Rash, and Donna Revis; two sons, Dennis Revis and Donald Revis and wife Tonya; a daughter-in-law, Cathy V. Revis; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Revis was predeceased by two brothers, Dewey and Clarence Revis.
Graveside services will be held at Lockhart Cemetery conducted by Rev. Delos Blanton. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the services.

William F. ‘Billy Bob’ Patrick
Mr. William F. “Billy Bob” Patrick, age 54 of 368 Sleepy Hollow Lane, Union, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the Piedmont Medical Center after a sudden illness.
Mr. Patrick was born in Union, SC on November 25, 1961 a son of the late R.D. Patrick and Mary Ola West Patrick. He was a graduate of Lockhart High School and Spartanburg Technical College. Mr. Patrick was a member of Lockhart Methodist Church and was the co-owner of Wind River Landscaping in Rock Hill.
Surviving are aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends Kim Davis of Union; Dawn and Jeff Clayton of Lockhart; his business partner Pat Belue of Rock Hill; and several other close friends.
Graveside services will be held at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Merritt Wentz.
Visitation will be held after the services at the cemetery.

Mrs. Ella Ruth Knight Burrows, age 74 of 1617 Kelly Rd., Union, passed away Monday, August 15, 2016.
Mrs. Burrows was born in Frametown, W.Va., February 12, 1942, a daughter of the late George and Mabel Six Knight. She was retired from BMG Music Distributors and was a certified security officer and certified CDL driver. Mrs. Burrows was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are four daughters, Ella Horne, with whom she made her home, Anita Rose of Ft. Worth, TX, Patty Rogers of Union, and Becky Britt Agnew; one son, Randy Free of Spartanburg; a sister, Dollie Stevens of Charleston, W.Va.; and two brothers, David Knight and Barrett Knight both of Baltimore, MD. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Burrows was predeceased by two daughters, Dorothy Thompson and Wanda Montgomery and a brother, Paul Knight.

Mrs. Spellman was born in Union, January 22, 1948, a daughter of the late Jack and Bonnie Wilkie Vanderford. She was a graduate of Union High School and was a retired manager with Winn Dixie after 22 years.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Jennifer Bain Sprouse and husband Kevin of Mayo; a son, Terry Bain of Fayetteville, TN; four sisters, Betty Bates and husband George and JoAnn Farmer all of Union, Fannie Garcia and husband Frank of Manteca, CA, and Margie Thomasson and husband Willie of Greensboro, NC; two brothers, Mack Vanderford of Union and Robert Vanderford and wife Shirley of Buffalo; and two grandchildren, Autum Sprouse and Arron Sprouse. Mr. Clarence Gerald “Jerry” Woodsby, age 74, of 128 Caropine Dr., Myrtle Beach, widower of Jennie Jenkins Woodsby, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at his home.
Mr. Woodsby was born in Union on August 5, 1942 a son of the late Clarence Woodsby and Mary Carter Woodsby. He was a graduate of Union High School and attended the University of South Carolina. Mr. Woodsby was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of First Baptist Church Lockhart and Scout Master of Lockhart Troop #45.
Surviving are one daughter, Wendy Woodsby of Spartanburg; three sons, Casey Woodsby of Myrtle Beach, Clary Woodsby of Union, and Jadus Woodsby of Myrtle Beach; two granddaughters, Cherie and Candice Woodsby both of Union; and five great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Lockhart Cemetery.

Judith Echols Wentz
Mrs. Judith Echols Wentz, age 66 wife of Dr. Robert M. Wentz, of 128 Heathwood Rd., Union, SC., went to be with the Lord at her home.
Mrs. Wentz was born July 27, 1950 a daughter of the late Wilson Echols and Hazel Reeher Echols. She was a graduate of Union High School and University of South Carolina, Upstate. Mrs. Wentz was a nurse a Wallace Thomson Hospital until she retired after twenty-five years of service. She also attended Duncan Acres United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Katherine Kingsmore Knox and husband James of TN. and Susan Wentz of Union; four sons, Kevin Kingsmore and wife Crystal of Spartanburg, Rev. Merritt Wentz and wife Lucy of Union, William Jack Wentz of Jonesville and Patrick Wentz and wife Beth of Jonesville; a special granddaughter, Candice Grady of Union; a sister Deborah Howell of FL. And a brother, Wilson Echols, Jr. and wife Charlene of GA. She was loved by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Duncan Acres United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Merritt Wentz.

Gail Patrick Martin
Gail Patrick Martin was welcomed into her heavenly home on Thursday, August 11, 2016. She was born July 9, 1945, in Fort Bragg, NC, to Earl Wilmore and Mary Evelyn Jeter Patrick. Since 2012, she resided in Atlanta, GA, and fought a long, courageous battle with a brain tumor. Prior to her move to Atlanta, she taught first grade for 30 years in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg County, North Carolina schools. She was beloved by students, parents, colleagues and a host of friends.
She was an active member of Providence United Methodist Church in Charlotte, NC, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Gail Martin grew up in Raleigh, NC, where she graduated from Needham Broughton High School in 1963. A graduate of Peace College (now William Peace University), she received her B.A. in Education in 1967 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was a member of Phi Mu Fraternity.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, John E. Patrick and Jerry H. Patrick. She is survived by her son, Michael Todd Martin and wife, Julianne Sparks Martin; grandsons Benjamin Patrick Martin and Alexander Charles Martin, all of Atlanta.
Never one to forget a birthday or overlook special events in the lives of her friends and family, Gail will be remembered for her generosity and unfailing kindness. She maintained friendships for life and shared her gentle spirit, courage and faith with many. Her smile and the joy she created will be greatly missed.
Services will be held in the Jeter Family Chapel at the Jeter Cemetery in Union, SC, on Saturday, August 13, at , with burial following the service. Charles Ray Robbins
Mr. Charles Ray Robbins of Union died peacefully at his home on Wednesday, August 10, 2016.
He was born in Salisbury, N.C. and was the oldest son of the late Buford Adam Robbins and Annie Laura Troutman Robbins.
Mr. Robbins was devoted to his family, his Church, and his friends. He served as an Elder and taught Sunday school at First Presbyterian Church. He was an active member and served on the Board of Directors for the Union County Historical Society. A graduate of Furman University, he worked his entire career with Milliken & Company. Mr. Robbins was a veteran of the United States Navy Reserve, serving 20 years and retiring with the rank of Commander.
Mr. Robbins was preceded in death by his wife, of 52 years, Mary Frances Moungrides Robbins; sister, Sarah Dixon and brother Stevan Robbins.
Mr. Robbins is survived by his sons, Charles R. Robbins, Jr., and his wife, Melissa of Rock Hill, S.C., John N. Robbins and his wife, Lisa of Union; grandchildren, Caroline Wilson and her husband, Peter of Lowrys, S.C., 2LT Jacob Robbins of Union, William Robbins of Rock Hill, and Alexa Robbins of Union.; great-grandson, James Wilson; sister, Marguerite Phillips and brothers, David Robbins and Adam Robbins.
The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, August 14, at First Presbyterian Church in Union. Friends will be received in the church parlor from 2 to 4 p.m. A private burial will be following the church service.

Mary Jane Williford Wilson
Mrs. Mary Jane Williford Wilson, age 62 wife of Charles William “Charlie” Wilson, Jr., of 132 Phillips Rd., Union, passed away, Monday, August 8, 2016 at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, WA. After a ten-year battle with cancer, Mrs. Wilson was in Washington participating with the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance in CAR T Cell treatment. She was always proud to know that her participation would also help others.
Mrs. Wilson was born in Union, SC on January 8, 1954 a daughter of the late George W. Williford and Essie Moore Williford. She was a graduate of Union High School, Baptist College of Charleston (now Charleston Southern University) where she received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and the University of South Carolina where she received two Master’s Degrees in Elementary Education and Library Science. Mrs. Wilson retired as Media Specialist at Jonesville Elementary School. While having worked with the Union County School District she had served as a teacher or librarian at Lockhart Schools, Buffalo Elementary School, Sims Jr. High School and Union High School. She was a former member of Mon Aetna Baptist Church and now a member of Sardis United Methodist Church. A Veteran of the United States Air Force Mrs. Wilson served for three years during Peace Time. Following her retirement, Mrs. Wilson volunteered at Monarch Elementary School as long as her health permitted. She was a Master Gardener and was a member of the Union Historical Society.
Surviving in addition to her loving caregiver and husband, Charlie, are four children, Elizabeth “Beth” Diamaduros and husband Sammy of Union, Samuel “Sam” Phillips and wife Nicole of Charleston, Elizabeth Ireton and husband Mark of Jonesville and Charlie Wilson, III and wife Kasi of Jonesville; a sister, Lib Williford of Union; nine grandchildren, Ayden and Corbin Lancaster, Daniel Ireton, Garrett, Cooper, and Clark Wilson, Dean, Lenna, and Anastasia Diamaduros; a special niece, Sherri Franklin of Union and a special aunt, Ola Jean Kelly of Union. Funeral services will be held at Sardis United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Jeff Farmer, Rev. Lee Franklin, and Rev. Ralph Brown. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Robert Kenneth Teague, Sr.
Mr. Robert Kenneth “Ken” Teague, Sr., age 79 of 222 S Boyce Street, Apt 6, Union, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016 at his home.
Mr. Teague was born in Union, August 2, 1937, a son of the late Newland Teague and Emma Willard Teague. He was owner-operator of “Ken’s Coins” and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Mr. Teague was a former member of the S.C. National Guard.
Surviving are a daughter, Monica Teague Haney and husband Mike; a son, Robert Kenneth “Kenny” Teague and wife Kathy all of Union; two sisters: Nora Ingle, wife of the late Buck Ingle of Union and Nancy Cagle, wife of the late Leamon Cagle of Simpsonville; a brother, Joe Stanley “Jack” Teague and wife Jackie of Mauldin; grandchildren: Melissa Womick, Stefanie Blanton and husband Dustin, Ashley Weber and husband Mark and Paul Teague and fiancée Brooke; and great-grandchildren: Maddox, Braeden, Jace, Jason, Daniel, Kenny Jayda and Lily and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Teague was predeceased by two brothers, Curtis Teague and wife Shirley and David Lee Teague.
Funeral services will be held at SR Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Shannon Faulkner. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery.

Lois Howell Vaughan
Mrs. Lois Howell Vaughan, age 83 of 129 S. 1st St., Lockhart, widow of Hayes F. Vaughan passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Union Medical Center.
Mrs. Vaughan was born in Lockhart, SC on February 4, 1933 a daughter of the late Raymond Howell and Sadie Dabbs Howell. She retired from Conso Products and was a member of Philippi Baptist Church. Mrs. Vaughan was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are three daughters, Gloria Cabaniss and husband Jackie of Sylvester, GA, Renee Ruggles and Ronnie of Greer, and Beth Cromer of Union; one son, Ray Vaughan and wife Cheryl Vaughan of Chapin; a special friend, Pat Gibson of Lockhart; seven grandchildren, Tony Cabaniss, Angel Cabaniss Baker, Andrea Dunbar, Daniel Vaughan, Brad Latham, Matthew Latham, and Gabrielle Cromer; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson, Carter Cabaniss. She was predeceased by one great-grandson, Joshua Pritchett, one brother, Guy Howell, two sisters, Louise Cabaniss and Laura Roberts.
Funeral Services will be held, at Philippi Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Brian Redding and Rev. Jackie Cabaniss.

Mrs. Laura Jeanette Inman Bradburn, age 59, wife of Jerry Bradburn of 104 Wardlaw St., Union, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016 at her home.
Mrs. Bradburn was born in Union, SC on November 3, 1956 a daughter of the late Ernest Inman and Laura Jeanette Inman Vinson.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three sisters, Alice I. Smith of Gaffney, Alma Durham and husband Alvin of Pacolet, and Gail I. Kirby of Gaffney; three brothers, Larry Inman and wife Becky of Chesnee, Allen Inman of Gaffney, and Ernest Inman, Jr. of Union; two special friends, Becky McAbee of the home and Wanda Fleming of Union; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Tedd, Eddie Dean, Shorty, and Steven Inman and two sisters, Pitty-Pat Inman and Cathy Ingle.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 5, 2016 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. Jeff Dean and Rev. Walter Holcombe.

John Thomas “J.T.” Adams
Mr. John Thomas “J.T.” Adams, age 72 husband of Delores Crocker Adams of 348 Pasture Dr., Union, went to be with the Lord surrounded by his family and friends on Tuesday, August 2, 2016.
Mr. Adams was born in Union, SC on February 14, 1944 a son of the late Bunyon “Bunt” Adams and Annie Mae Bentley Adams. He was first married to the late Emily Horne Adams. Mr. Adams attended Jonesville High School and was retired from Sanders Transport as a truck driver and was formerly employed with APC. He was retired from the S.C. National Guard Jonesville Unit. Mr. Adams was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and was an avid gardener and farmer.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Rhonda Keisler and husband Chris of Enoree; one son, Tommy Adams and wife Renee of Union; one step daughter Tammy Gibson of Spartanburg; two step sons, Richie Kirby of Ashville, NC and Chris Kirby and wife Heather of Union; six grandchildren, Danielle Adams, David Adams, Heather Adams, Hailey Adams, Heath Adams, and Hanna Adams; six step-grandchildren, Hunter Kirby, Pebbles Kirby, Taylor Rhame, Brandon Rhame, Noah Rhame, and Melissa Gibson; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda Tucker and husband Tommy of Union; numerous nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Kenny Adams and wife Mandy of Union; and a beloved pet dog, Carter. He was predeceased by a brother, George Adams and two great-grandchildren, Isaiah Fallen and Caillin Gregory.

Mrs. Shirley Cargill Price, age 76 of 203 Cottage Ave., Union, widow of Lawrence Price, Sr., went to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 2, 2016.
Mrs. Price was born in Union, SC on September 11, 1939 a daughter of the late Fred Robert Cargill and Lucille Campbell Price. She was retired from the textile industry. Mrs. Price was a member of Crestview Baptist Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Angela Price Knighton and husband Michael of Union; two sons, Lawrence Larry Price, Jr. and wife Jennifer and Brian Keith Price and wife Kim all of Union; three sisters, Faye Rodgers of Union, Brenda Williams of Buffalo, and Teresa Johns of Buffalo; one foster child, Shawn Garner of Union; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by on son, Steven Lynn Price and one sister, Virginia Gregory.

Miss Smith was born in Spartanburg, SC a daughter of Deana Walls Smith and boyfriend, Smiley Howell and the late Timothy Lee Smith. She was employed as a waitress at Waffle House and was a member of Calvary Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her mother are one daughter Hailee Mitchell of the home; one brother, Timothy Blake Smith of Oklahoma; and her maternal grandmother, Margie Ashe of Union.
