Malinda Kay Vaughan

Mrs. Malinda “Kay” Gowan Vaughan, age 70 of Jonesville, SC passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017.

Mrs. Vaughan was born and raised in Pacolet, SC, the daughter of the late Stewart and Johnnie Smith Gowan. Kay will be lovingly remembered by her husband of fifty-three years, Francis Earl “Buddy” Vaughan. Also surviving are a daughter, Angela and husband Dwain Knighton of Gaffney; a sister, Judy Hatfield of Midland, TX; a brother, Bobby Gowan, Sr., of Conyers, GA. Kay was a loving grandmother to four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Jesse Gowan.

Mrs. Vaughan retired from Michelin and was a lifetime, dedicated member of Jonesville Baptist Church. She was an active member of Happy Hearts and the WMU. Mrs. Vaughan was also active in her community.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Holcombe’s Jonesville Chapel conducted by Rev. Scott Cannon and Rev. Ralph Brown. Burial will be in Jonesville Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Michael Vaughan, Darrell Eaves, Eric Eaves, James Harris, William Jolly and Gage Eaves.

Visitation will be held 1:00-2:00 PM Tuesday in the chapel prior to the service.

The family will be at their respective homes.

Stanley R. Alexander

Mr. Stanley R. Alexander, age 73, husband of Genelle Carter Alexander, of 300 Partridge Rd., Union, passed away, Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Alexander was born May 14, 1943 in Union, SC a son of the late, Ralph Alexander and Jeanette Ivey Alexander.  He was a graduate of Union High School and retired from Phillips and Swings Transport.  Mr. Alexander was a former member of the South Carolina National Guard Lockhart Unit.  He was a member of Brown’s Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sisters, Peggy Williams and husband John Lee and Susan Williams and husband Jerry all of Union; two nieces, Lori Barnett of Spartanburg and Tracy Petty and husband Kip of Jonesville; two nephews, Mark Williams of Union and Chris Williams and wife LeAnn of Missouri; four great-nieces and three great-nephews.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, April 28, 2017 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Chris Gulledge.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Addis, Jerry Freeman, Glenn Sparrow, and Reggie Robertson.

Visitation will be held 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

Anne Harmon Lipsey

Mrs. Anne Harmon Lipsey, age 83, of 205 Park Dr., Jonesville, widow of Harold Gene “Bud” Lipsey, Sr., passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Lipsey was born in Jonesville, March 6, 1934 a daughter of the late Boyd Harmon and Julia Lawson Harmon.  She was a graduate of Jonesville High School and Cecil’s Business College.  Mrs. Lipsey was retired from Western Auto Store in Jonesville.  She was a member of Jonesville Baptist Church where she had previously taught Sunday School, and was a member of Happy Hearts, WMU, and a former member of the Choir.

Surviving are two sons, Gene “Doc” Lipsey and wife Nancy of Jonesville and David Lipsey and wife Daphne of Spartanburg; two grandsons, Kyle Lipsey of Irmo, SC and Jordan Lipsey of Spartanburg, SC; two granddaughters, Samantha Billings and Brooke Billings both of Spartanburg; and one great grandson, Michael Tanner Lipsey of Irmo, SC.  She was predeceased by one sister, Sarah Osment Jones.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Jonesville Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Scott Cannon and Rev. Ralph Brown.  Burial will follow at Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Jeff Addis, Donald Addis, Steven Addis, Jason Fowler, Greg Fowler, and Barry Tweed.

Mr. Charles Vernon Davis, age 78, husband of Frances Caldwell Davis of 226 McKanic Rd., Union, passed away Monday, April 24, 2017 at his home. 

Mr. Davis was born in Union, SC on June 4, 1938 a son of the late Lucius Washington Davis and Fannie Belle Brannon Davis.  He was retired from Coleman Upholstery where he worked for many years.  Mr. Davis was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church.  He served with the South Carolina National Guard Union Unit for a number of years.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Donna Owens and husband William R., Sr. of Whitmire; three sons, Charles V. Davis, Jr. and wife Lisa of Greenwood, Jimmy Dean Davis of Greenwood, and Dennis Ray Davis and wife Jodie of Union; one sister, Bonita McKeown of Union; four brothers, Paul Davis of Union, Roger Davis of Whitmire, Dennis Davis of Whitmire, and Otis Davis of Union; twelve grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. 

Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Pine Ridge Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Kenny Weaver, Rev. Walter Parham, and Rev. Todd Davis.  Burial with Military Honors will follow at Rosemont Cemetery.

Mrs. Susie Elizabeth Walker Harris, age 86 widow of Curtis Raymond Harris of 2066 Brown’s Creek Church Rd., Union, SC. passed away April 21, 2017.

Mrs. Harris was born in Lockhart, SC., November 3, 1930 a daughter of the late Curtis Eugene Walker and Susie Davis Walker. She was a homemaker and a member of Lockhart Freewill Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, JoAnn H. Smith of Union; three sons, Terry Curtis Harris, Tony Raymond Harris and wife Cindy both of Union and Jamison Moss of Union; two sisters, Pearl Gault and Patsy Cromer, a brother, Curtis “Red” Walker, Jr. all of Union; Grandchildren: Brian Harris of Simpsonville, Susan Gilstrap and husband Jared and Tony Kyle Harris all of Union; a number of great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Harris was predeceased by a daughter, Glennis Moss, a granddaughter Tara Suzanne Smith, sons-in-law, Rickey Smith and Larry Moss, Brothers, Joe Walker, Bert Walker and a sister, Jessie Canupp.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM., Monday, April 24, 2017 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Mr. Chad Ponder. Burial will be at Union Memorial Gardens.

Billy Dean Gibson

Mr. Billy Dean Gibson, age 85, husband of Joanna Porter Gibson of 419 Mt. Tabor Church Rd., Union, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Gibson was born in Lockhart, August 4, 1931, a son of the late Russell Sage Gibson and Sallie Childers Gibson. He was retired from Cone Mill, Carlisle Finishing and had received a Master degree in Theology.  Mr. Gibson was a member of Wilksburg Baptist Church where he served as a former Deacon, Sunday School teacher and was a member of the choir. 

Mr. Gibson was a veteran of the US Navy having served during the Korean War. Afterwards, he joined the South Carolina National Guard from which he retired.

Mr. Gibson was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving in addition to his wife of 63 years are three daughters, Terry G. Horne, Tammy G. Pierce and husband Ronnie all of Union, and Amy G. Linder and husband Doug of Gaffney. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 21, 2017 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel. Burial with full Military Honors will be at Lockhart Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Friday at the chapel prior to the services.

Members of the Wilksburg Baptist Church along with Dr. Robert Wentz, Jackie Parks and Jerry Parks are asked to sit in a group.

Mrs. Candee Darlene McCall Silvers, age 53, wife of Derrick Scott “Scotty” Silvers of 200 Pineneedle Rd., Union, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017 after a battle with metastatic breast cancer.

Mrs. Silvers was born on January 27, 1964 a daughter of the late Jack McCall and Nadine Mease McCall.  She was a 1981 graduate of Union High School and was retired from Wal-Mart of Union after over 30 years. Mrs. Silvers was a member of Mon-Aetna Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Chelsie Darlene Silvers of the home; one son, Derrick Silvers, Jr. of Simpsonville; one granddaughter, Rowan Shae Silvers; three brothers, Kenny McCall, Tony McCall, and Harry Lane McCall, all of Union; and her mother-in-law, Brenda Harris.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, April 21, 2017 at Mon-Aetna Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Chris Gulledge and Rev. Benny Green.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the services at the church.

The family wishes to extend a special “thank you” to the staff and nurses of Blue Ridge Hospice, the employees of Wal-Mart and the City of Union for their love and support of Candee and her family during her illness.

Mrs. Mary Nell O’Shields Baldwin, age 96, of 1014 Linersville Rd., Buffalo, widow of William Ned Baldwin passed away, Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Hospice Home of Carolina Foothills of Landrum.

Mrs. Baldwin was born in Buffalo, SC May 24, 1920 a daughter of the late Deedie Clarence O’Shields and Nellie Frances Scarborough O’Shields.  She was retired from United Merchants – Buffalo Mill and had formerly worked at Oakmont Nursing Home.  Mrs. Baldwin was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church.

Surviving are one sister, Annie Lee Dunaway of Enoree; two grandchildren, Stephanie Baldwin Antkowiak and husband Steven of Greensboro, NC and Kenneth Wayne Baldwin of Charlotte, NC; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews including, Bobby and Becky Hyatt and Jason Hyatt and children Cassidi and Jadon Hyatt.  She was predeceased by her son, Steven Larry Baldwin and a niece, Debra Nell Hyatt who was reared in the home.

Memorial services will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Buffalo Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Lynn Ford.   Visitation will be held following the services.

Mrs. Esther Sturgis Senn, of 307 Catawba St., Union, widow of L. Emerson Senn, passed away Sunday April 9, 2017 at her home.

Mrs. Senn was born in Rock Hill, a daughter of the late Harry Victor Sturgis and Mary Moser Sturgis.  She was a graduate of Winthrop University where she also received her Master of Arts degree in teaching. Mrs. Senn retired after 20 years as a teacher with the Union County School system where she taught Home Economics, Science, Health and Vocational subjects. Earlier she served as Home Economist with the Union County Clemson Ext. Service. She was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mary Ruth Senn and husband George W. Thompson, III; a son, Richard C. Senn and wife Dawn Wheeler all of Virginia Beach, VA; two sisters, Nancy Sturgis Philips of Rock Hill and Kathie Sturgis Robinson of Laurel, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Along with her husband, Leland Emerson Senn, she was predeceased by three sisters, Celeste Sturgis, Harriet Sturgis Zinker and Jackie Sturgis Hoke.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday April 17, 2017 at Padgett’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Neil Keisler and Rev. Carrol Caldwell.

The family will receive friends in the church Fellowship Hall immediately following the services.

Velda Turner Haney

Mrs. Velda Turner Haney, age 78, of 912 Flat Dr., Buffalo, widow of Fred Edward Haney, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017 at her home.

Mrs. Haney was born in Union, SC on July 6, 1938 a daughter of the late Clarence Austin Turner and Juanita Faye Campbell Turner.  She was a faithful member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness since 1973.

Surviving are one daughter Kathy Ivey of Buffalo; two sons, Stanley Haney and wife Tammy and Eddie Haney all of Buffalo; two sisters, Virginia Dockery of Union and Ruth Gothia of Texas; two brothers, David Wayne Turner and wife Junita Faye and Harold Roy Turner and wife Susan all of Buffalo; sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by one sister, Vickie Davis; one daughter, Karen Dianne Ruff; one grandchild, Gary Atchley; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, April 17, 2017 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel conducted by Brother Joe Adams and Rev. Johnny Burgess.  Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery.

Mr. H. Maxie Murphy, age 93, husband of Mary Scales Murphy of 1120 Meansville Rd., Union, passed away Friday April 14, 2017 at Heartland of Union.

Mr. Murphy was born in Cross Keys, October 19, 1923, a son of the late John P. and Lottie Wilburn Murphy.  He was a graduate of Cross Keys High School and retired from the City of Union after 34 years with the Utilities Dept. where he had served as assistant director.  Mr. Murphy was a veteran of the US Army having served during WWII and was a member of New Life Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 74 years are two sons, Ricky Murphy and wife Jennifer, and Maxie “Gene” Murphy and fiancée Suzy Brooks all of Union; a granddaughter, Amanda McDade and husband Adam of O’Fallon, IL; two grandsons; Gene Murphy and Stefan Murphy and wife Melisa all of Union; six great-grandchildren; Ivy, Lindsey, Hayden, Colton, Lila, and Emma.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, April 16, 2017 at New Life Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Shannon Faulkner, Rev Guy Langston and Rev. Todd Davis.

Members of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class, Judy Kerr, and Kathy Cudd are asked to sit in a group.

Entombment will be at Union Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Mrs. Marlene Gibson Daniel, age 67, wife of Oscar McDade Daniel, Sr., passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at her home.

Mrs. Daniel was born in Union, SC March 13, 1950, a daughter of the late Roy B. Gibson and Evelyn Fox Gibson. She was a homemaker.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons: Mark Daniel and wife Kelly and Oscar Daniel, Jr. all of TN; a sister, Kathy G. Hines of Inman; three brothers: Robert “Bob” Gibson and wife Rita of Greenville, Thomas Gibson and wife Pat of Union and Roy B. Gibson and wife Jeanette of Caroleen, NC and two grandchildren: Preston Daniel  and Fort Daniel both of TN. Mrs. Daniel was predeceased by a brother, Freddie Gibson.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Rosemont Cemetery conducted by Rev. Kenneth Cash.

Winston Andrew Quinn

Mr. Winston Andrew Quinn, age 91, husband of Dorothy Gambrell Quinn, of 902 Arthur Blvd., Union, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Quinn was born in Greenville, SC January 24, 1926 a son of the late Dewey Quinn and Christine Williams Quinn.  He was a graduate of Pelzer High School.  Mr. Quinn was a 1948 graduate of Clemson University where he earned a degree in Textile Engineering.  He was a member of the Clemson University Baseball team, the Block C Club and an IPTAY member for 62 years.  Mr. Quinn was a veteran of the United States Navy Air Corp having served in World War II.  He was retired from the Union County School System and had previously worked at Reeves Bros, Burlington Industries, and United Merchants.  Mr. Quinn was a member of Grace United Methodist Church for 48 years and was also a Mason.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 68 years are three daughters, Fran Love and husband Bob, Kathy Bailey and husband Michael, and Chris Smith and husband Barry; six grandchildren, Andy Love, Jeff Love, Katie Crews, Drew Smith, Jennifer Robbins, and Rhett Smith; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Grace United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. David Bauknight and Rev. Mike Scales.

The Clyburn-Whitener Sunday School Class is asked to sit in a group and form the honorary escort.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday evening at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

Mr. Arville Ray Medford, age 89, husband of Valeria Webber Medford of 276 Vernon Foster Rd., Union, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Medford was born in Clyde, NC, March 7, 1928 a son of the late M.L. and Lula Jane Green Medford.  He retired from Milliken and Co., Monarch Plant and was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church. Mr. Medford was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Rebecca Anthony and husband Carlie of Union; a son, Rev. Ray Medford and wife Joan of Simpsonville; three step-daughters, Jerri Keith Sailors and husband Caroll, Brenda Keith, and Linda Keith Carter and husband “Coot” all of Union; a step-son, David Joe Keith of Union;  eleven grandchildren: Mindy Anthony, Allison Medford Bagwell and husband Tommy, Rev. Eric R. Medford and wife Jessica, Randy Perry, Ronnie Perry, Ann Murphy, Paula Gibson, Paul Morris and wife Mary, Kinsleigh Alman and husband Shane, Shane Keith, and Maria Keith; and numerous great-grandchildren including, Eli Thomas Bagwell, Bleeze Matthew Bagwell, Suri Bagwell, Makenzie Medford, and Tanner Medford. Mr. Medford was predeceased by a grandson, Carlie Anthony, Jr. and a step-son, Michael Perry.

Mrs. Ruth Franklin Moss Fowler, age 93, of 308 Alman St., Apt. 30 widower of both Edward Lewis Moss and Thomas G. Fowler passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017 at her home.

Mrs. Fowler was born in Woodruff, SC November 13, 1923 a daughter of the late Lidith “Lotie” Franklin Carpenter.  She was a member of Hammett Grove Baptist Church.  Mrs. Fowler was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Surviving are one brother, Henry Raymond Carpenter of Spain and a number of nieces and nephews; she was predeceased by two half-brothers, George Russell Carpenter and Lewis Manuel Carpenter.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the Holcombe’s Jonesville Chapel conducted by the Rev. Buddy Hogan and Rev. David Sellars.  Burial will follow at Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery.

Eugene R. Johnson, Jr.
Jonesville, S.C.


Mr. Eugene Russell “Gene” Johnson, Jr., age 77, of 412 Bogan Rd., Jonesville, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017, surrounded by his wife of 39 years, Phoebe. Gene struggled through several years of declining health from pulmonary fibrosis and congestive heart failure.

Gene was born in Greenville, July 8, 1939, a son of the late Ossie Miller and Eugene Russell “Tut” Johnson, Sr. He spent his young years in Ivor, VA, living with his grandmother Nanny Whitfield Johnson. After the death of his parents and grandmother, Gene continued to live in Ivor with Barbara Ann and Merrel Carr who he regarded as his adoptive parents.

Gene attended schools in Wakefield and Ivor as well as Edwards Military Academy in North Carolina. He graduated from Wakefield High School and from Spartanburg Methodist College with a degree in criminal justice.

Mr. Johnson worked for Clemson University in meat inspection and later in 1981 he began employment with the S.C Dept. of Corrections. There he served in many capacities to include Captain of Security, Training Officer and Firearms Instructor.

He was also a past member of Hejaz Air Squadron and was a 32nd Degree Mason. Gene was a member of Bogansville United Methodist Church in West Springs.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two step-sons, Matthew Lauren Shaw and wife Kara, and Christopher John Shaw and wife Allison; and his daughter-in-law, Jenny Rankin Johnson. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Eugene Russell Johnson, IV, Layton Foxworth Rankin, Kaysea Lauren Shaw, Taylor Austin Shaw, Madison Elizabeth Shaw and Emma Claire Shaw.

Mr. Johnson was predeceased by two sons, Eugene Russell Johnson, III and Walter Todd Johnson.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, April 11,2017 at Bogansville United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Don Alexander.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 until 3:00 Tuesday at the church prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bogansville United Methodist Church, Sound System Fund, 4052 Buffalo-West Springs Hwy., Jonesville SC  29353 or to a charity of one’s choice.

James F. Barfield

Mr. James F. “Freddie” Barfield, age 68 of 401 Brown’s Creek Church Rd., Union, passed away Thursday, April 6, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Barfield was born in Union, February 25, 1949, a son of the late Jack Hawkins Barfield and Mamie Albert Barfield. He was a retired conductor after 38 years with Norfolk-Southern Railway. Mr. Barfield also served as Fire Chief with the Monarch Fire Dept. and worked with Union Co. EMS and Rescue Squad. He loved to hunt and fish along with serving as supervisor of Barfield’s Timber. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church and was a veteran of the US Army.

Surviving are two daughters, April D. Hall and husband Bobby, and Holli Barfield; a son, Chad Barfield; his former wife, Connie Morris Barfield and his mother-in-law, Rudelle Morris all of Union; a brother, Delmus “Dink” Barfield and wife Sherry of Charleston; and four grandchildren, Justin Hall, Jayda Barfield, Luke Robbins and Conner Barfield.  Mr. Barfield was predeceased by a granddaughter, Maycee Barfield and a brother, Jack Barfield, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Lakeside Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Scott Cobb. Burial with Military Honors and Fireman Honors will be at Union Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held at the church prior to the services Saturday from 1:30 until 3:00 PM.

Active pallbearers will be Wayne Rollins, Curtis Eubanks, Tyler Crocker, Glen Ivey, Greg Barfield and Dennis Dawkins.

Employees of Barfield’s Bulldozing and Barfield’s Timber along with Courtney Jennings and Stephanie Sherbert are asked to serve as the honorary escort.

Memorials may be made to Lakeside Baptist Church, 640 Lakeside Dr., Union, SC  29379.

Mr. J.C. “Jay” Matthews, Jr., age 65 of 225 Eaves Rd., Whitmire, passed away, Monday April 3, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Matthews was born in Union, SC on May 12, 1951 a son of Betty Ruth McAbee Matthews and the late J.C. Matthews, Sr. He was a retired fork lift operator.

Surviving in addition to his mother are one son, James Carroll Matthews and wife Angie of Union; two sisters, Betty Ruth Thiesen and husband William of Waxhaw, N.C. and Deborah Lynnette Funderburk of York; two brothers, Ernest Franklin Matthews and Michael Clifford Matthews both of the home; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren and he was loved by numerous nieces and nephews. “We love you Jay!”

Visitation will be held 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday, April 7, 2017 at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.

Ms. Leslie Nicole “Nikki” Hollingsworth Smith, age 45, wife of Mike Wilson of 316 Railroad Street, Union, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 at her home.

Ms. Smith was born in Union, SC December 14, 1971, a daughter of the late James W. Hollingsworth, Jr. and Rosella Jeanette Henderson

Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Brooke Rhinehart of Union; two sons: Brandon Bradburn of Whitmire and Christopher Bradburn of Union; a step-mother, Sue Hollingsworth of  Whitmire; three brothers: Wesley Waldrop and wife Wendie Riddle of Carlisle, Matthew Hollingsworth of Columbia and Tyler Hollingsworth of Whitmire; three nieces: Heather Barber, Amber Poole and Kayla Poole; three nephews: Shane Vanderford of CA, Wesley Dale Waldrop of Union  and Waylon Wesley Waldrop of Trenton; two brothers-in-law, Doug Wilson and Mickey Wilson of Union. Ms. Smith was predeceased by two sisters: Angela Hollingsworth and Barbara Poole and two brothers, Roger Owensby and Kevin Owensby.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by Rev. Ricky Cook.

Visitation will be held at the graveside immediately following the service.

The family will be at the home, 316 Railroad Street, Union.
